These Are All The Tabs I Have Open In Chrome Right Now.

At some point, I decided I was going to post here daily.

It’s days like these where I kind of regret that decision. I’m bleh, and I barely have time for the work I have to get done, much less my blog, which is kind of optional.

However, I’ve come up with some solutions for these days. One of them is trying to write many posts in advance. (Didn’t happen this time!) Another is the linkdump. I often refuse to close random cool things just because I feel I should do something with them, but don’t know what. Now I will share that with you.

Here are the six tabs that have been open in Chrome for awhile.

Jeff Green is now working at Popcap, and in celebration, someone on twitter drug up this GFW Radio clip. It’s funny. GFW Radio was awesome.

I’ve also watched the latest Ok Go music video. It has cute dogs! The song is pretty neat too. You’ve probably seen it, but if not? Here.

This is one of my favorite recent Fake AP Stylebook tweets. Great stuff.

Kale asked me what a fox sounded like. I told him. Then he sent me this video for reference. It’s kind of completely adorable.

This may be the best Professor Layton comic ever created.

This isn’t particularly awesome, but it is a tab I had open! I was looking over the DVD and Blu-ray release information for Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I will be buying that, I’m sure.

That’s it!
“But wait!” you say, “Don’t you have the blogging tab open to write this?”
To that I say, “ha HA, Bitches, I use two different browsers! That one’s open in Flock!”

Busyness Can Mean Only One Thing: Linkdumps

I am super busy, as I can get. Things are happening and happening. So hey, here’s a linkdump post.

Through the Talking Time IRC and various talkings about it. I discovered this youtube channel. Retsupurae is pretty funny stuff. I mostly enjoyed the LPs of various horrible flash games that are up there. However, Val informed me, and watching them proved, that they are also well-known for doing riffs on horrible video LPs. I have been watching and doing much laughing. Plus, several of the videos have General Ironicus of Chip and Ironicus in them, so that’s an extra benefit.

And hey, making that link had me learn that there’s a new LP started up on that site, too, so I’m excited to check that out.

Here, also, is a Persona 3 comic I’ve been holding onto for awhile that I find quite funny. Captured things really well. I’m surprisingly far into P3P at this point, but I haven’t played in awhile. Hopefully I’ll keep plodding away and finishing it. I keep playing in like 2 hour chunks at random times, which is working pretty well for me.

Anyway, I hope those links give you some entertainment today. Come back tomorrow for something vaguely more interesting. Or actually probably less interesting. Who knows.

Lazy Linkdumping LP Post Day

Hey, I follow LPs, right? Here’s a video one I’ve been watching. It’s about a group of people who, due to their own insanity, are playing through the complete pile of glitchy, badly designed garbage that is Sonic the Hedgehog 2006.

Seriously, it’s honestly just amazing that the game is that bad. Sonic is a big name, and it’s like literally no effort went into this game. Sonic Adventure and such was weird, and not good in some ways, but you can tell a lot of care and time when into it, and it was, for the most part, playable. It’s amazing that this game was played all the way through, and I’ve only watched the first 6 videos or so at this point. It is a miracle of a trainwreck, and it needs to be experienced.

The LPers are pretty decent, too. They’re recording this like it’s a big party, and you get that vibe. It’s maybe not the wittiest commentary, but you really feel like you’re with a group of dudes who are utterly flabbergasted that this game exists, much less that they’re making themselves play through it. It’s fun.

I think it’s worth watching. Enjoy it if you do. I’m going to keep going. Sorry about the lazy post, but I’m trying to finish things up homework, grading, and LP-wise. Soon things will get back to normal. Ish. I guess they haven’t really gotten TOO not normal. Maybe I’m more awesome than I thought.

Anyway, LPs! Yay!

WARNING: Linkdumping approaches.

Just a warning that we’re getting into the really busy part of the semester. Like, all projects are due forever. So not that people read this site, and then read it for the top of cool always excellent always content, but you may have more shitty posts in the future. Until the end of the semester, anyway.

Shitty posts like this one!

Do you listen to the Idled Thumbs? Well, you should. If you’ve listened to their recent podcast, you could have heard them mentioning some techno remixes? They’re kind of sweet. Here’s the one they were talking about in the episode, and here’s the one FROM that episode. If you enjoy the podcast at all, you’ll get a kick out of them.

This is some really sweet concept art from Fantastic Mr. Fox. I mean, I think Fantastic Mr. Fox in its current form looks amazing, but man. I’d watch a movie animated in that style All. Day. Long.

Anyway, so that’s that. A warning, and me being lame and posting links. Maybe I’ll say something interesting tomorrow. You never can tell. You’ll just have to check. HA! You have no choice now! You have to!

Okay, you have a choice. Do whatever. Have fun.

Feels like a linkdumpin’ kind of day…

Go go linkdump!

I completely forget how I stumbled upon this. It’s very furry, but blowing my mind with awesome, I will admit. Maybe I haven’t seen enough suits like that, but that is just amazing for a non-anthro costume.
But on top of that, think of the story which lead to this post on this blog. Now, I don’t know what the website actually is. I haven’t been there, besides this link. But seriously, this is completely furry and outside the realm of any sort of gadget blog. Think of the writer justifying it to the people who run the site. Or maybe he’s there, sweating and worrying, and the people running the site just shrug. “As long as it’s bringing in the clicks.” Then they go back to counting money. I dunno, I feel like the story behind it is almost as entertaining.
In any case, the people in the comments are also stupid. This is obviously a creation of craftsmanship. It should cost that much. Whether the average person would get use out of it to justify that price is another story. I know I probably wouldn’t. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t mind having it. But oh well.

Let’s see, what other links are good? How about this one, which leads to Brickroad’s very long co-op LP of Secret of Evermore? This is a link worth following if you are a connoisseur of fine LPs. It’s slowly being posted, but it’s great. Even if they are just grinding for levels with the Spear forever and so on. Heh.

Finally, LBJ was apparently pretty amazing. I feel bad for Joe Haggar.

Anyway, that’s some stuff. Apparently. Enjoy your stuff and your day, I’ll try to think of something vaguely interesting to write for next time, promise.

Link-O-Rama: Linkuary

Welcome to Linkuary, where I will provide you with links every day for a month!
…okay, yeah, that would be completely lame.

Still, my browsers are completely full of tabs that I’m keeping open for another one of these posts, so let’s empty them out and give you something else to do other than reading this bloeg, eh?

First off, on the Youtube front, here is something my mother called an educational video about how to present a news story. It’s pretty damn funny, and painfully accurate.

Speaking of actually educational, though, Brer shared with me this intense rap about Economic theory. Learn yourself.

On a more visual side, shivam tweeted this awhile back, and it’s still completely amazing. I don’t care how many times I see it, but when you successfully switch art styles on a property, some really cool stuff happens. This is some of the best Pokemon fan art I’ve seen in awhile.

Also, man, I guess I’m easily entertained, but this has, by far, been my favorite Chainsawsuit in awhile. So true to how furries actually work, with the punchline not being an insult, so much. I just kind of love it.

There’s a few little things for you, hm? Anyway, I’m going to get back to Mass Effect 2. (Yes, this lazy post was just an excuse to play more Mass Effect.)

January 14, 2010

I kiss girls all the time, and other play-lets.

Sometimes, there is a game so passable, so strongly mediocre, that you would never play it.
However, sometimes this game is so full of yuri undertones that you just cannot help but grin and scheme while searching for maximum awkward.
At the same time, do you really want to play that game?

Well, that’s what the brilliance of LPs comes in.
This Hammer can Forge a Woman! is really, really excellent. I read through it over the pass few days, and damn, it’s just a really entertaining read. Plus, and I do consider this a benefit, it’s all about a game I have no interest in ever playing, so there’s no chance of me ever spoiling anything for myself. It’s an all-around win!

Additional let’s plays I have been reading (because apparently that’s what I do when I’m bored) that are worth your time include this one, which is just an amazing, amazing playthrough of the amazing game Nancy Drew and the White Wolf of Icicle Creek. It’s written in a specific sort of internet humor style that, perhaps, will not please you. But it certainly pleased me. There were a lot of laughs to be had.

And, hell, if you’re looking for additional excellent Let’s Plays on the homefront, it would be silly not to read Over A Thousand Nights… Every day!, a playthrough of a game I’ve never heard of, The Magic of Scheherazade, in classic excellent Octopus Prime fashion. Still continuing, still awesome!

Yep, so this was another post of links. DEAL WITH IT! Get reading! There will be a test!
Okay, there won’t be, but someday I may be so excited about something like this to make a test! I swear!

Reducing the Number Significantly!

Often, I will leave a tab open, going “Hey, I’ll put that in a blog or something!” Then I’ll end up with tabs open in Flock for like… weeks. So right now, I’m a bit tired of those tabs, so hey, let me throw a few links at you.

Yes, this is one of those posts that are just links.

At some point, someone showed me WTF Comcast, and much hilarity was has. Completely worth a read. I want that job.

Man, this has been on a mix CD that Essner puts on sometimes, because it’s there? And I really love the song? But I could never remember the name of it, even when I asked Essner like… five times? But now I finally have the name? So enjoy it.

On the LP front, I recently read through this one, and it was completely awesome. Who knew RE0 was so stupid? (Well, I could have guessed, but, you know.) So that’s worth your time. Apparently this guy has LP’d like… every single Resident Evil game. I need to read the rest.

Uh, so, it’s no mystery that I really like all the Persona 3 and 4 music and whatnot, so the fact that the Persona 3 Portable soundtrack is out there now makes me happy. It made my day the other day. I’ve been listening to the Female Other Self’s battle theme and enjoying it, and now you can too! Beware, though, as I am kind of wanting to do an “Evolution of Mass Destruction” post so, uh, you may be listening to it again. Just have to completely collect my thoughts on it.

If you haven’t watched the Blamimations, you probably should. Laughter is likely to follow.

On the Let’s Play front once again, Brickroad finally pulled out a new LP. It won’t take you too long, but it’s, once again, a fun time.

Well, that’s about all I can think of off of the top of my head. Hopefully it has entertained you, perhaps maybe?
Or not. But that’s fine.

BLOEG OVER.

October 14, 2009

LP Recommendation Post of October! Or this week! Or whatever!

Man, I continue to feel like I got really lucky having gotten into the Lucasarts adventure games and such. Every time I really get into looking at these Sierra adventure games, I go “Man, I am so glad I never tried to play one of those.” Well, okay, I tried to play the time travel Space Quest, but that went really shitty, so… makes me glad I didn’t continue to try.

Anyway, I watched a pretty good LP of King’s Quest V awhile back, and it made me feel the same way. This post is mostly to say, hey, feel free to check that out here. It’s pretty good.

But yeah, goodness. Some of the stuff in that game? So completely dumb. And I understand this was the start of games that had voice actors, but goodness.
Goodness.

Maybe if I’d been with King’s Quest the whole time. Maybe. But man, that game…
Just watch it, and be amazed at how random and nonsensical it is.

I do feel kind of bad, though. I saw a link to this LP in the thread for Sky Render’s LP of the game, and it’s probably going to make me not read it. Sky Render has done some awesome LP’s of this series of adventure games, called the Kyrandia series, that I didn’t even know existed. He’s pretty awesome. So you should give his LP a look, too. Or at least go back and read his other ones. They’re also worth your time.

Linkdumpin’

This is a boring post. Sorry. But here are some things to look at and watch that are NOT boring. Yay!

This is a video showing why Star Ocean 4 apparently has the worst voice acting and animation in any video game ever.

This is a BBC video about monkeys and how much they enjoy the booze, which was shown to me via Shawn Elliott.

And this is something that Talking Time showed me. A “Let’s Play” of sorts. I don’t know if I should be ashamed that that’s so funny.

This is, of course, Meet the Spy, which you should have already seen, but damn, watch it again because it’s still awesome.

I have been much too obsessed with listening to Rap Chop and the follow up, Jam Wow. Yeah. They’re on my iPod.

And, of course, if you combine TF2 with Vince, you get this. Yep.

Also, I know it’s not a video, but dammit, there’s new Azumanga Daioh that someone was nice enough to translate. It’s wonderful.

And okay, since this is apparently not a set of video links anymore, go play this nice art game, hm? It’ll only take a few minutes.

So yeah. Go forth and be entertained. It’s a huge internet. There’s lot of entertainment out there, and most of it is better than this blog, probably! I’ll write something better some other time. Maybe!
