This post is completely an excuse to link to something.

Mainly, this post is an excuse to link to this. CAN YOU SOLVE THE MYSTERY?!

Whew, now I can close the tab where I was keeping that open in order to remember to link to it in a blog post sometime. Tabs -1!

…crap, I should write something else, too. I need a good seg into something based on the mystery…

Nope? Nothing?

Oh well.

Um, okay… text… GO!

Why are things that try so hard to seem juvenile, badly-constructed, and badly written so funny? Something like this makes me laugh and fairly entertains me, whereas if someone were to present something to me that was as badly constructed as this, it would be painful to experience. I would want to punch someone for wasting my time.
I suppose it’s all context. This is meant to be funny. I don’t, for one second, believe this guy’s website is genuine. There’s just this inkling of being well-thought-out beneath everything. The english paper turned in to me that looks like this, or the internet comment with language like this is meant to be taken seriously.

There are some things in the world that I don’t think should count for “being taken seriously.” I really don’t think that someone should have to dress a certain way to be taken seriously, for example. There are always extremes, but if someone is dressed casually, they can still present serious or professional thoughts, you know? That’s not a hindrance. When it comes to language, however, you can clearly hinder what you’re trying to say. Being too casual, or using too much slang can completely ruin your point for your audience. And not using spelling and punctuation anywhere near correctly, to the point where it’s obvious you didn’t even make an attempt, is not a sign of wanting to be taken seriously. I think it’s the fact that these people care less about the important point they may be trying to make than I do on these pointless blog posts or while messaging with other people just makes me angry. I’m not picky. You just have to try to be correct. You don’t have to succeed. But if you don’t try, fuck you. I’m not listening to you.

I feel really strongly about that, actually. Still, it’s all about context. One of my friends could talk like that for comedic effect, and I would play along. I wouldn’t be angry.

The bottom line is, I guess, that man, Context is really important, huh?
Yeah.

For a better viewing experience, watch while eating some Extreme Fajitas

So, if I know you (and I mean, I probably do, if you actually know about this blog) then I’m sure you have five hours you wish to fill with humor. (okay, that one I can’t be all the positive about. Sorry.)

Then follow this link. You can thank me later. Just, you know, don’t be stupid. Start on the bottom at hour one and work up, okay?

Oh, what that link is? I guess I can share that information.

Basically, Brer found this guy, his name is Noah Antwiler, and he has a website where he does video Let’s Plays and reviews and whatnot called The Spoony Experiment. Every so often he links me to something by him, and if nothing else, you have to give this guy credit. He has a TON of stuff on his website, and all of it is entertaining.
That which is linked above, however, is certainly one of his best that I’ve seen. That is his let’s play of Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh. This is one of those FMV adventure games back when FMV was, you know, something that nobody realized was retarded yet. It’s, honestly, just an amazingly bad game in so, so many ways, and Noah is completely and utterly hilarious MST3King it all the way through the whole damn game. I enjoyed every minute of watching it. And, you know, it was at least funny enough to get Jonathan to come over and watch for a little to figure out what all this hilarious dialog was from.

So yeah, you have five hours to waste and want to laugh? Give that shit a go. Or anything on his site, really. I’ll probably still rely on Brer to link me to the really good stuff, but I’m sure you can’t really go wrong with anything on there.

Here are some things that are good.

Good things are good, right? So here are some good things.

Talking Timer Brickroad just finished up his video playthrough of Mega Man 3 at 150% Speed, and it is very entertaining. Here is the full Youtube Playlist. Watch it. Enjoy it. Enjoy, dammit!

I also read all of this comic, called Our Home Planet, the other day completely at random. I really enjoyed it! It was pretty great! Maybe you’ll like it? I dunno. It’s one of those things I enjoyed but probably wouldn’t normally link? Cause I don’t think others would enjoy it? But I’m doing it anyway.

Also, I guess, me. I’m good. Right? I’m good. Goodish. We’ll pretend, anyway…

Inconsequential Post of a Link

So I am currently having an odd conversation about pornography. It’s… interesting.

But the main reason I wanted to post, for no apparent reason, is to post this comic. Because it just makes me giggle every time I look at it. That third panel is just amazing. And seriously, Team Fortress 2 Spy Humor NEVER gets old. At least, it hasn’t nearly gotten old for me yet.

I should get to bed. I think I’ll get on that.

Link Link Link Link, with a little depressing bit at the end.

So I played Rock Band tonight online with people from Talking Time. It was a lot of fun. I sang on Hard. I found that I am a lot more accurate if I like… sing everything falsetto and breathy and feminine. I don’t know why that is, but I was getting like… 90% instead of my normal like… 86% when I try to sing like the singer and such. Who knew? Also, I find I like Electric Version quite a bit even though Essner really dislikes it. I mean, not like Mass Romantic levels of like, but enough for me to seek out a copy of it. Oh well. Too bad for Essner, he’ll just have to not enjoy it as I play and sing it or whatever. Also, I found I suck ass at singing Reptilia. Mostly because I realized after I had picked it that I had never sung it before. Seriously, I got like… 67%. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is playing online with a full group is just about as fun as offline, though the malfunctioning of the headsets made it hard to… talk much. But oh well. Hopefully we won’t have that problem next time.

I should be in bed, but I’m not.

Also, I’m probably late to the party, but did you see this video of the Bionic Commando Remake for XBLA? I tried the original back when I picked up this little Capcom Classics GBA cart from work on the cheap, and I sucked at it. I’m horrible at old school games nowadays. But that looks to add more interactivity. And co-op? Fuck yes. That’ll get ten dollars of Microsoft Funmoney when it comes out.
Oh, and while I’m linking shit, they have this flash demo of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney over here. If you ever wanted to know if you’d like playing a Phoenix Wright game, try that out, and then imagine that over a whole game, because you do basically do everything you do in the games in that demo… well, okay, besides the investigation parts, but you know… the text… that’s the important part… if you like that.

I’m tempted to write something here about how my mom thinks I’m a failure and keeps communicating this to me in a roundabout, covert kinda way, but I don’t think I want to get into it. I think thinking about is what made me so drifty and unable to concentrate and quietly depressed this evening. I think I’ll just go to bed, play a little Picross, and sleep.

RANDOM CRAP!!! HUZZAH!

And now, random links.

LINK GO! I don’t know what exactly is to be said about this, but I know the digg article link said it wrong.

LINK GO! To the delight of both Pikachu and the many children!

Anyway, so I was listening to last week’s Wingin’ It, and they were talking about the idea of your self being just this floaty thing and having different bodies and being something different every day. And I guess I’m weird, but that really doesn’t appeal to me. I’m a creature of habit who likes things to stay the same unless for a real good reason. Sure, being able to swap bodies might make bedroom antics more fun, and I’d be all for it, but in general I’d just want one body (not the one I have now) that was just how I liked, and that would be it. Having something I liked and being used to it being there is more worthwhile to me than making that choice of “who do I want to be?” every morning. I see the appeal, of course, but it’s not for me. I would get the side benefit of getting to choose the one body I got stuck with, though, so I’m all for this tech being magically developed magically, however.
